Boone County Government buildings will not open on Monday, January 6, 2025, due to severe weather conditions. Despite the closure, essential personnel will be on duty to ensure public safety.

The county's commitment to protecting residents remains strong as critical services continue their operations. Departments that will remain staffed include the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, Public Works, Animal Services, Assisted Housing, Building Department, Judge Executive Office, and Occupational Licensing. Residents can contact these departments via email or phone for assistance. In case of animal control emergencies, residents are advised to call 859-371-1234.

Boone County is under a Level 2 Snow Emergency. Officials urge the public to limit travel due to worsening road conditions. Snow removal teams are scheduled to work overnight and throughout Monday to maintain road safety during ongoing snowfall.

State offices and courts in Boone County are also closed on this day. This includes the Boone County Attorney's office, Clerk's office, PVA office, and the Justice Center which houses Circuit Clerk, Circuit Court, District Court, and Family Court.

Normal business hours for Boone County Government offices are expected to resume on Tuesday, January 7.
