Boone County - KY | Official Website

Last week, Hurricane Helene caused significant destruction across the southeastern United States. In response, Boone County employees Casey Archey and Tyler Hill have been deployed to assist in Haywood County, North Carolina. They are part of a team from Kentucky Emergency Management.

The team, which includes members such as Dustin Heiser from Kentucky Emergency Management and Austin Kresser from Hebron Fire District, is working long hours to manage the distribution of essential supplies. Their tasks involve collaborating with various agencies and the U.S. military to ensure that supplies reach their intended destinations.

Casey Archey is involved in delivering medical supplies to isolated communities using helicopters. Meanwhile, Tyler Hill is responsible for inventorying items and coordinating their delivery locations.

Kentucky Emergency Management suggests that those wishing to aid recovery efforts consider monetary donations due to logistical challenges with physical goods. Recommended organizations include the American Red Cross, NC.gov, Florida Disaster Fund, Send Relief, and Salvation Army.
