Teal We Find A Cure and Give Where You Live have jointly donated nearly $50,000 to the Nourish Food Pantry at the Yung Family Cancer Center at St. Elizabeth. This donation aims to enhance the pantry's mission of providing essential nutrition support to patients and community members facing food insecurity.
Teal We Find A Cure is a non-profit organization focused on ovarian cancer research and patient care, while Give Where You Live is a local philanthropic initiative. Their combined efforts reflect a shared commitment to community well-being and health equity, aligning with the Nourish Food Pantry's goal of offering healthy food options to those in need.
Maggie Biesinger, Integrative Oncology Manager at St. Elizabeth, expressed gratitude for the donation: “We are incredibly grateful to Teal We Find A Cure and Give Where You Live for their generosity and commitment toward addressing food insecurity. This donation will allow us to continue serving our patients and community members who rely on the Nourish Food Pantry for essential nutrition.”
The Nourish Food Pantry supports individuals experiencing food insecurity, particularly those managing chronic illnesses or undergoing medical treatment. Through partnerships and donations like this one, the pantry provides produce, proteins, and other healthy staples. Since its opening in 2023, it has distributed over 77,000 pounds of food, more than 64,000 meals, feeding over 11,000 people.
On March 12th, representatives from both organizations presented the donation during an event at the Nourish Food Pantry. The event underscored the importance of community collaboration in tackling food insecurity and enhancing regional health.
