Boone County Extension highlights demonstration garden review and winter plant care tips
Robert D. Brockman Extension Agent, Horticulture | Boone County Extension Office Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment

The Boone County Environmental and Nature Center's Demonstration Garden is a one-acre teaching garden and orchard. It plays a key role in horticultural education and hands-on training for the community.

The latest issue of the Horticulture Newsletter, covering November and December 2025, highlights several topics relevant to local gardeners and those interested in plant care. The newsletter includes a yearly review of the Demonstration Garden, discusses issues such as southwest injury on thin-barked trees, offers tips for keeping plants healthy during winter, provides information about the Northern Kentucky Master Gardener Program, lists upcoming horticulture events, and shares a recipe for apple carrot bake.
