Joining the Marine Corps in 1958, Dom served for six years, stationed in North Carolina and Japan, where he volunteered at an orphanage in Okinawa near the base. After his service, he met his beloved "Lady" on a blind date in Pensacola, Florida, and tied the knot with Mildred Baldwin on April 20, 1963. Throughout his career with Pan American Airlines, Dom worked his way up to Professional Flight Engineer, later moving his family to Amman, Jordan, to assist in the establishment of a pilot training program for Alia, a Jordanian airline.
Devoted to teaching, Dom then transitioned his career to DHL Airways training department, moving to Florence, Kentucky, in 1986, where he remained until his retirement in 2006. A pillar in his community, Dom dedicated his retirement to church service, involvement with the Marine Corps League of Northern Kentucky, and mentoring young men in the Northern Kentucky Young Marines.
