Former Cooper High School standout Emily Schmeltz played on Friday, May 16 in hopes of reaching the NCAA Division II Softball Championship

On Friday, May 16, former Cooper High School standout Emily Schmeltz’s current collegiate team the Saginaw Valley State Cardinals won 6-5 against the Indianapolis Greyhounds in the NCAA Division II Softball Championship.

The game took place at SVSU Softball Complex at 1:30 p.m. and was the third matchup against the Indianapolis Greyhounds in the tournament.

The Saginaw Valley State Cardinals’ next game will take place on Thursday, May 22 at 1:50 p.m. at Jim Frost Stadium.
