Emily Schmeltz, former Cooper High School standout, played on Saturday, Feb. 22 in NCAA Division II softball game

On Saturday, Feb. 22, former Cooper High School standout Emily Schmeltz’s current college team, the Saginaw Valley State Cardinals, lost 4-3 in their NCAA Division II softball game against the North Georgia Nighthawks.

The game took place at Haines & Carolyn Hill Stadium. This was their second matchup against the Nighthawks this season.

The Cardinals’ next game is scheduled for Saturday, March 1 at 3 p.m. at Launch Pad Sports Complex against Bridgeport Purple Knights.
