Horticulture Newsletter highlights geranium care and upcoming open house event
Boone County Extension Office Martin | Official Website

If you are seeking a versatile flower that requires minimal care and offers large blooms, the geranium may be the plant for your home this spring. Often found as vibrant bedding plants, geraniums can also serve as eye-catching container accents or trailing plants in hanging baskets. This was outlined in the latest edition of the Horticulture Newsletter, released for May - June 2025.

The newsletter also includes various articles meant to guide avid gardeners. Topics such as keeping birds away from ripening small fruits, mastering the timing for pruning shrubs, and information on annual and periodical cicadas are covered.

An open house event is scheduled to take place at a new location in Florence on Saturday, May 17. It will be open from 10 AM to 2 PM at 7111 Dixie Highway, Florence.

Additional content features upcoming horticulture events and a recipe for a snappy pea salad.
