Houchens Insurance donates $1M to boost healthcare initiatives at St. Elizabeth

Houchens Insurance Group has made a significant contribution to St. Elizabeth Healthcare with a $1 million donation aimed at enhancing community well-being and vital healthcare initiatives. This marks the first time Houchens Insurance Group has donated such a substantial amount, which will be divided equally between the Edgewood Cancer Center and the Florence Wormald Heart & Vascular Institute (HVI).

Bill Holocher, Executive Vice President at Houchens Insurance Group, expressed support for St. Elizabeth Healthcare's services: “We are avid supporters of St. Elizabeth Healthcare and the invaluable service it provides to the community.” He emphasized the importance of leadership in fostering a positive work environment and positioning St. Elizabeth as leaders in regional care.

Garren Colvin, CEO at St. Elizabeth Healthcare, acknowledged the donation: “We appreciate this generous donation and anticipate using the funds to support programs and initiatives for our patients.” He highlighted that support from organizations like Houchens Insurance Group is crucial for continuing their mission to lead communities toward better health.

The donation was officially presented during St. Elizabeth Healthcare’s Annual State of the System Address on January 26 by Andy Barker, CEO; Bill Holocher; Chad Bilz, Executive Vice President, Commercial Lines; and Paul Brophy, Director of Growth from Houchens Insurance Group.

Andy Barker expressed enthusiasm about supporting Northern Kentucky: “We are thrilled to provide this donation to St. Elizabeth and support the Northern Kentucky community.” He noted that they hope to positively impact those affected by cancer or heart disease through prevention, diagnosis, and treatment efforts.

St. Elizabeth Healthcare operates six facilities across Northern Kentucky, Southeastern Indiana, and Greater Cincinnati region. It is sponsored by the Diocese of Covington and focuses on improving community health while providing significant uncompensated care annually.
