St. Elizabeth Healthcare has announced changes to its executive leadership team. Vera Hall has been appointed as Chief Operations Officer, while Dr. James Horn is now the Chief Clinical Officer.

Ms. Hall becomes the first female COO in the organization's history, bringing over 30 years of healthcare experience, including 15 years at St. Elizabeth. Her previous roles include Senior Vice President/Chief Nursing Executive/Chief Patient Services Officer. In her new role as COO, Ms. Hall will manage day-to-day operations and ensure organizational goals are met.
Dr. Horn has been part of St. Elizabeth Healthcare since 2014 and previously served as Vice President/Chief Quality Officer until February 2022 when he became Senior Vice President/Chief Patient Service Officer/Chief Quality Officer. He is board-certified in emergency medicine and a fellow in the American College of Emergency Physicians. As Chief Clinical Officer, Dr. Horn will lead medical staff and oversee clinical integration, quality, and patient engagement efforts.
The two leaders have worked together on several key projects in recent years, such as navigating the COVID-19 pandemic, achieving CMS 5-star status at St. Elizabeth Edgewood, Magnet™ redesignation for St. Elizabeth Florence and Ft. Thomas locations, along with other quality recognitions across clinical departments.
